HBO - The market has appeared recently. It is not the traditional market of the ethnic minorities, which has become a common practice for many generations. However, with the determination of Mai Chau’s Party Committee and Government, this model has been implemented.

The conventions and regulations have been built, stipulating once a week. Accordingly, Mai Chau "Highland Market" takes place every Sunday at stadium of the district’s center.

Before building this model, the People's Committee of the district held a meeting to discuss and get feedback from the delegates and the people so that the model must be really special with a large scale, serving many important purposes. It not only attracts tourists and promotes the national cultural identity, but it also resolves the painful situation, that is the encroachment of the other side of the road and street.

To diversify the attraction activities, Mai Chau "Highland Market" recreates a number of traditional festivals of Thai and Mong ethnic people by organizing musical performances such as dancing and singing, concerto and playing national musical instruments at the last market of each month. On the other hand, the market meeting activities take place regularly at the central stadium, fully meeting the space conditions, the convenience of transportation, the security, the order and the environmental sanitation.

Foreign tourists come and enjoy the nuance of Mai Chau Highland Market.

Coming to the market fair, tourists and consumers from inside and outside the province feel comfortable and free to do shopping, visit the scientifically and reasonably arranged shops and stalls according to each industry and sale area such as the food, the fresh food, the highland agricultural products, the orchids, the ornamental plants, the agricultural materials, the fashion clothes, the household goods and so on.  The busiest and most crowded place in the market is the place selling the local agricultural products. Mong people from Hang Kia, Pa Co, Co Luong, Xam Khoe, Mai Hichra, Noong Luong, Pu Bin, Tan Son, Tan Mai, Phuc San bring their own local products such as the brassica juncea, the native tangerine, the taro, the sweet corn, the purple garlic and so on.

Up till now, through dozens of meetings, the "Highland Market" in Mai Chau maintains regularly on Sundays in the expectation of many people, especially for domestic and international tourists.
