(HBO) - The seven-person football championship of Van Son commune (Tan Lac) was held in the middle of last September. The stadium is always full of the spectators to cheer and witness fierce and attractive matches. The mass sports movement has really created a wide spread in the residential community, making the people closer together. Thereby, it has been promoting the movement of training the body to follow the example of the great Uncle Ho, which has been creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere and successfully completing the tasks and goals.

Currently there are over 5,000 people, 1,189 households, living in 17 hamlets in Van Son commune. Over the past time, the movement to practice physical exercises in the commune has formed a habit and order. According to the review, the number of people participating in regular exercise is nearly 30%. Thereby, the mass sports movement has developed strongly, raising the people's awareness in physical training and health improvement. Soccer and volleyball have been attracting a large number of people to participate. In the villages, groups and teams have been established to build a fund to buy balls and nets. In addition, they have also maintained practicing the ethnic sports such as tug of war, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, array fighting and tickling before each tournament.

Now there are over 20 volleyball courts of all kinds, 6 soccer fields in the whole commune. In order to promote the mass sports movement, the commune has propagated and mobilized the people to actively exercise their bodies to improve their health. They maintain organizing 3 - 4 tournaments a year on holidays and New Year, creating a useful playground for the people. They regularly exchange and compete with the neighboring communes. They have also supported money for repairing systems of yards and facilities for training and competing.

Over the past years, the sport movement in the commune has strongly developed, the strength is the national sports. On average, about 10 athletes are provided for the district’s team. In order to continue promoting the mass sports movement, the Party committees and the authorities of the commune have been promoting propaganda and mobilizing the people to actively exercise their bodies to improve their health and create a safe and healthy living environment. Improving the quality of strong sports has also been focused on so that they can get high rankings in the tournaments. At the same time, the mass sports movement has been promoted to increasingly develop and spread among the population community.
