(HBO) – The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province on February 12 issued a document requesting local schools to prepare for students’ return after schools were temporarily closed to prevent the acute respiratory disease caused a new strain of coronavirus (COVID-19). Accordingly, students are set to come back to school on February 17.
The
Lac Hung Primary and Secondary School in Yen Thuy district has cleaned and
sterilised all classrooms and education tools before students return.
There are 541 schools with 223,722 students in
Hoa Binh at present. During the school shutdown from February 3 to 16, all the
establishments cleaned and fumigated their entire campuses, equipment and
education tools.
To maintain learners’ study habits, teachers
have given homework to their students via messages or the internet to ensure
students are ready to continue learning when they are back to school.
Schools and other educational establishments
have been asked to be active in arranging learning time so that the 2019-2020
academic year will end as scheduled in Decision 1514/QD-UBND issued by the
provincial People’s Committee on July 16 last year.
At present, the local educational sector still
keeps a close watch on and stays updated with information about the epidemic
situation so as to provide timely notifications for cadres, teachers, students
and their parents to carry out preventive measures.
The Department of Education and Training also
requested schools and relevant units to build alternative learning plans to
make up for the time students get off from school, and these plans must ensure
that the regulated educational programme is fully implemented. If necessary,
they can arrange classes on Saturdays or Sundays. Besides, it is also necessary
to keep in touch with students’ parents to learn about their health, according
to the department./.

Last year, the provincial health sector stepped up patriotic movements, encouraging its staff to improve their professional knowledge and skills, contributing to raising the quality of medical check-up and treatment.
