The functional forces of Mai Chau town (Mai Chau) have set up a checkpoint preventing and controlling Covid-19 pandemics in the area adjacent to Na Phon commune.

According to the district's Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, by 4 p.m. on December 13th, there have been 16 cases in the district with the positive PCR test results for SARS-CoV-2 virus, most of which are related to the outbreak in Pa Co commune. In addition, the 2 remaining cases are the patients 1417904 and 1417905, who are mother and daughter in Chieng Sai, Mai Chau town with the epidemiological factors from Hanoi. They came back there on November 28th. On December 12th, the patient 1417094 suffered from fever with 38 degrees, sore throat, body aches, so she went to the district’s health center for a quick test, and the result was positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. They took RT-PCR test samples with the positive result for SARS-CoV-2 virus. Along with the timely detection of F0 cases, the district has focused on tracing, zoning, and isolating F1 cases.

Mr. Pham Van Hoan, the Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee said: The number of the cases detected in the area has not yet been identified the source of infection. The new cases have mainly spread from the outbreak in Pa Co commune. Directing and responding to epidemics have been paid attention to at the highest level according to the developed scenario and deployed to the localities throughout the district with the aim of quickly tracing, zoning, and isolating in a timely manner so that the pandemics do not spread in the community. The district has determined to promote well the role of Covid-19 groups in community and self-management groups in monitoring, supervising and supporting the households to prevent and controll Covid-19 right from the grassroots level.

As the central area of the disstrict, by 4 p.m. on December 14th, there have been 4 cases tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus and 116 F1 in Mai Chau town. Immediately after detecting the positive cases, the town's Steering Committee for Covid-19 has urgently activated the response measures to preevnt and control the pandemics: tracing, zoning, isolating and organizing quick tests for F1 cases. Ms. Ha Thi Vinh, the Chairman of Mai Chau town's People's Committee said: Following the direction of the district’s People's Committee and the district’s Steering Committee we have urgently put 4 positive cases of Covid-19 into the isolation and treatment facilities and 116 F1 cases have been traced. Due to the large number of F1, the town has been proactively and flexibly screened the subjects to carry out isolation at home. The rest number has been in the concentrated isolation areas for monitoring according to the regulations.

Although there have been no F0 cases detected, Chieng Chau commune has also been identified as a high-risk area for spreading the disease in the community, when on December 7th in Sai Khao village, an F0 case of Tong Dau commune attended KGB’s birthday party, and this F0 case had a close contact with 32 people. In addition, 10 F1 cases have been in a close contact with F0 cases in Mai Chau town, Tong Dau commune, Na Phon. Facing with that situation, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has mobilized the forces to zoning and isolating F1s. According to Major Ha Cong Quyet, the Chief of Public Security of Chieng Chau Commune, in addition to promoting propaganda on preventing and controlling the pandemics, the Communal Steering Committee has assigned the forces to set up the checkpoints for Covid-19 prevention and control in Sai Khao hamlet to control the people entering and leaving the locality. The control, zoning, organization of rapid tests, sampling of F1s are well being done.

In spite of the complicated developments of the pandemics, according to Mr. Pham Van Hoan, the Vice Chairman of the District’s People's Committee, the district has still been well leading, operating and directing drastically and effectively in the localities, focusing on carrying out COVID-19 prevention work. "Due to the preparation in advance, when the pandemics occurs, Mai Chau is still stable, the people's psychology is not disturbed. Because of being propagated throughout the epidemics, understanding the danger of the epidemics, the people’s consciousness about preventing and controlling the pandemics has been serious. Along with that, the district has received the effective and active support from the provincial health agencies. This is the basis for the district to well and effectively perform the epimemics prevention and controll and the epidemic suppression” – Mr. Pham Van Hoan, the Vice Chairman of the District’s People's Committee emphasized.
