(HBO) – As Hoa Binh suffers from a shortage of teachers for all educational levels, 50 teachers in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province, had to teach classes in several different schools in 2022. Lai Thi Minh Hue is a biology teacher at the Mai Chau township Junior High School, but from Monday to Thursday every week, she travelled 30km to teach at the Noong Luong Boarding Primary and Junior High School for Ethnic Minority Students in Thanh Son commune.

Teachers who teach for different schools face a number of difficulties, from travelling to faraway schools to preparing many lesson plans for different grades.

However, Hue said held that it is meaningful for them as they have opportunities to meet different groups of students and gain more experience, helping improve teaching quality and effectiveness.

Mai Chau teachers’ spirit of "working wholeheartedly for the sake of students” is a demonstration of local efforts to make breakthrough in implementing the Politburo’s Directive No 05 on enhancing the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, moral example, and style.

In 2018, to carry out Plan No 125 issued by the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board to implement the Politburo’s Directive No 05, the Standing Board of the Mai Chau district Party Committee identified the breakthrough task for the district as promoting the sense of responsibility among leaders of Party committees, agencies, localities, and units; properly upholding professional ethnics; building a contingent of devoted and incorruptible cadres, Party members, civil servants, and public employees who wholeheartedly serve the people.

To carry out this task, the district’s Party Committee issued Regulation No 995, dated March 28, 2019, on the responsibility for setting good examples of officials and Party members, firstly members of the Standing Board of the district Party Committee and the Party Committee itself.

The Mai Chau People’s Committee has frequently ordered local units to disseminate the documents on administrative discipline and rules of conduct to cadres, civil servants, and public employees. It has also set up inspection teams to improve the compliance with administrative discipline and the working manner.

From 2018 to 2022, the Inspection Board of the district Party Committee coordinated with advisory bodies to propose inspection and examination programmes for each year and the whole tenure to review the implementation of breakthrough steps in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, moral example, and style. Examinations and inspections helped clarify problems and shortcomings to improve the enforcement of Directive No 05.

As a result, Mai Chau now has 145 exemplary models in studying and following the late leader’s ideology, moral example, and style in different fields, from politics, economy, culture, to defence and security.

Ha Cong Nghi, Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee, said the models in studying and following the late leader’s ideology and example have helped address shortcomings and tackle bottlenecks to create momentum for local socio-economic development./.
