HBO - Nguyen Van The, member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Transport, on March 22 visited Hoa Binh and worked with provincial leaders on local socio-economic situation and transportation work.

 At the working session, the province proposed the Ministry of Transport pay greater attention to and support the locality to upgrade the bypass road from Highway 6 through Hoa Binh city, and consider fixing an eroded section of National Highway 6 in Dong Tien ward in accordance with Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung’s direction.

Hoa Binh asked the Ministry of Transport to invest in building and upgrading sections of National Highways 15 and 12B (connecting National Highways 1 and 6), that pass through the province, while allocating ODA capital to build Hoa Binh 4 bridge.

Addressing the session, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The took note proposals of the province and assigned relevant departments and agencies soon implement measures to ensure the efficiency of transport works in the locality.

Regarding the proposal of improving the eroded section of Da River bank, the minister assigned the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, to coordinate with specialised agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to conduct surveys and seek thorough solutions and suggestions to solve the problem within one month.

On the bypass of National Highway 6 section through Hoa Binh city, the minister assigned the Directorate for Roads to work with the other ministries and localities to make surveys and study the terrain, thus giving assessments and proposals to build a project or a report asking investment approval to submit to the Government.

Mentioning the proposal of building 4-lane roads, the minister assigned the Directorate for Roads to collaborate with the Department of Transport of Hoa Binh to consider the project, suggesting that the funding of the project may come from the road maintenance fund or other sources for the management of road markers and corridors. He stressed the need of the project as it will pave the way for the implementation of projects as they have investment decisions.

For the building of Hoa Binh 4 bridge, the minister supported the province’s plan, as the project will help connect the province with Son La. The ministry will coordinate with the province to implement the project as soon as possible.
