(HBO) -A quiz on the homeland sea and islands and the 65-year tradition of the heroic Vietnamese People's Navy (VPN) launched in Hoa Binh province has attracted the participation of many officials, civil servants and locals. After more than one month, the organising board received nearly 15,000 entries.
Leading officials of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for
Information and Education check and assess the quality of entries of the "Sea,
islands and the 65th traditional day of heroic Vietnamese People's Navy” quiz.
In response to the event organised by the VPN Department of
Politics, the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and
Education directed the Commissions for Information and Education of district
and city Party Committees to join the quiz, post its rules on mass media and
encourage officials, Party members and locals to take part.
After nearly one month from March 9 to April 6, the
provincial commission – the standing office of the quiz – received 14,891
entries from organisations and individuals in the province. Some units having
large numbers of entries include Luong Son district (3,325), Hoa Binh city, Kim
Boi district, Tan Lac district, the provincial Women’s Union and the provincial
Federation of Labour (each with more than 1,000 entries).
Especially, many localities in far-flung and underprivileged
areas actively participated in the event. Many participants devoted their
enthusiasm and time in their works with attractive illustrations.
Many works with high quality, logic layout and rich content
attract readers, including those by Ha Thi Chanh from Cao Phong district Party
Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, Bui Thi Thanh Huyen from
the provincial Learning Encouragement Association, and Ta Thi Phuong Nga from
the provincial Women’s Union. The organising board selected the most outstanding entries
to send to the Naval Technical Institute.
Bui Tien Luc, deputy head of the commission, said that the
contest met quality requirements and attracted a large number of participants,
thus contributing to disseminating the values of Vietnamese sea and islands;
safeguarding Vietnam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction at sea;
improving public awareness and responsibility of environmental protection,
marine economic development and the observance of laws related to sea and
islands, and at the same time effectively combating propaganda activities by
hostiles at home and abroad which take advantage of sovereignty issues at sea
to harm the great national unity as well as Vietnam’s fine external relations
with its neighbouring countries./.
Officials of Hoa Binh province led by Bui Van Khanh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with others from the provinces also taking part in a programme on promoting Vietnamese localities in the US and Canada, visited and had a working session with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston on April 24 (local time). The delegation was welcomed by Hoang Thuy Duong, Consul General of Vietnam in the city, and staff members of the consulate.
Officials of Hoa Binh province joining in a programme on promoting Vietnamese localities in the US and Canada began working sessions in New York on April 22. Other provinces participating in this programme, held by the Department for Local Diplomacy Facilitation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, include Yen Bai, Ha Nam, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien - Hue, and Gia Lai.
The Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province on April 19 held a get-together on April 19 for soldiers, youth volunteers, and transporters who directly engaged in the Dien Bien Phu campaign 70 years ago (1954-2024).
