(HBĐT) – As from 7am on May 23, 638,315 voters in the northern province of Hoa Binh went to the poll to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021 – 2026 tenure.

The entire province had 1,279 voting units. Constituents in the province are to elect six deputies to the 15th NA, 58 deputies to the provincial People’s Council, 333 to local district-level People’s Councils, and 3,322 to councils at the commune level. Provincial leaders attended the local opening ceremonies for the day, cast their ballots and inspected election process across the province.

The fifth voting unit in Quynh Lam ward had 1,038 constituents, who went to the poll in small groups. They all wore face masks and strictly followed pandemic-prevention measures. All polling stations had a temporary quarantine space for any cases suspected of COVID-19 infections.

The opening ceremony took place shortly and without mass gathering. Voters in the locked-down area in Dong Tien Ward, Hoa Binh city cast their votes to exercise their citizens’ rights while following regulations on COVID-19 prevention.

s of 5pm on May 23, 98,580 out of 98,808 voters in Hoa Binh city cast their votes, a turnout rate of 99.77 percent; 109 out of 137 local constituencies (79.56 percent) completed their election work, and 100 percent of constituents in quarantine facilities voted./.
