Trade union activities and movements of local workers and civil servants have faced many difficulties during the period due to COVID-19. Despite that, various activities have been carried out to offer help to affected workers, protect their rights, support businesses in tackling challenges and build stronger grass-root trade unions.

A number of charitable events have been held, such as "Tet Sum Vay” (Reunited Tet) providing support to help workers enjoy Tet – Vietnam’s traditional New Year Festival, and "Thang Cong Nhan” (Month for Workers). Trade unions at all levels have presented 3,043 gift packages, worth nearly 2 billion VND, to disadvantaged workers; helped repair seven houses for needy families; and signed 12 new collective labour agreements.

A total of 106 local trade unions provide free meals to workers. The province also had 12 newly-established trade unions, while 1,710 people have become new members of local trade unions.

In his remarks at the event, Luc hailed efforts made by the provincial labour federation over the last six months and asked it to focus on fulfilling this year’s tasks and effectively engage in COVID-19 response./.
