Over the past years, administrative reform has continually received attention from all-level administrations in Yen Thuy district and considered a focal task aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the State administrative apparatus. In 2023, Yen Thuy focused efforts on administrative reform, thus considerably helping reach its socio-economic development targets.
People are given detailed guidance when coming to the district’s division for receiving administrative papers and returning settlement results.
To create favourable conditions for organisations and people, under the 2023 administrative reform plan, the Yen Thuy People’s Committee ordered district-level specialised divisions and the communal-level People’s Committees publicise administrative procedures at their single-window units and on electronic portals so that people and organisations can easily search for information, and disseminate those procedures via mass media.
As a result, all administrative procedures from the district to communal levels were updated frequently in line with regulations.
The implementation and review of administrative procedures were carried out seriously and effectively by agencies and units. From January 1 to November 22 last year, the single-window divisions of the district and communal People’s Committees received 10,968 dossiers, 95.2% of which were handled ahead of and on schedule.
In addition, Yen Thuy paid attention to knowledge training for communal officials and civil servants. Each month, its People’s Committee assessed officials, civil servants, and public employees’ performance via assessment forms as regulated by the Government’s Decree No. 90/2020/ND-CP. This is a basis for evaluating and rating officials, civil servants, and public employees at the year’s end, as well as for enhancing administrative discipline.
Thanks to the comprehensive implementation of administrative reform measures, the district has obtained positive results in the realisation of the Party’s resolutions. It is among the best-performing localities in terms of competitiveness and business climate improvement.
In 2023, Yen Thuy recorded per capita income of about 52 million VND (over 2,130 USD), the household poverty rate dropped to 4.26% from 6.33%, and the number of new-style rural area criteria a commune met was 18.5.
