The Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee on January 8 held a conference to deploy the provincial socio-economic development plan, state budget estimates and measures to improve the province’s business and investment environment and enhance competitiveness in 2024.

the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long attended and delivered a speech
at the conference. Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee
and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Bui Duc Hinh attended the
event. Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the
provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh chaired the conference.

In 2024, the province strives to gain an economic growth rate of 9%; GRDP per
capita of 77.59 million VND; total social investment of 23.6 trillion VND;
total state budget revenue of 5.76 trillion VND; total export turnover of 2
billion USD; urbanisation rate of 35%; poverty rate reduction of 2.3 - 2.5%.
It also expects to have six more communes meeting new-style rural area
standards and strives to increase its Provincial Competitiveness Index ( PCI ).
To achieve the above goals, the province has proposed 10 groups of key tasks
and solutions with a focus on grasping development perspectives, key tasks, and
development breakthroughs set out in the Hoa Binh provincial plan for the
2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 that was approved by the Prime Minister
in December 2023.
The province will drastically and synchronously implement its four strategic
breakthroughs, focusing on improving its PCI, removing difficulties and
obstacles for people and businesses, reducing input costs, and unofficial
costs, and supporting business.
It will also continue to restructure the economy, innovate growth models,
improve productivity, quality and efficiency, and create motivation to promote
rapid and sustainable economic growth.
Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Long
highlighted the province's notable bright spots, such as the completion of 16
out of 19 socio-economic development targets, the Prime Minister’s approval of
the provincial planning until 2030 with a vision to 2050, the drastic direction
of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee to the province's key
investment projects; stable growth in agriculture, as well as improvements in
social welfere, tourism, and social order and safety.
He asked for improvements in personnel work, accelerated progress of state
management decentralisation, administrative reform, improved competitiveness,
and business support.
For each industry and field, he required expanding cultivation areas, selecting
key agricultural products for export, supporting businesses in building
agricultural processing facilities, completing the infrastructure of industrial
zones and clusters, attracting large investment projects, and strictly managing
mineral resources and land use plans.
He also asked
agencies to mobilise resources to ensure that people of ethnic groups in the
province have a happy Lunar New Year festival.
In mid-May, the provincial Museum organised an exhibition named "Duoi la co Dang Cong san Viet Nam quang vinh” (Under the flag of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam). This meaningful activity took place in the joyful atmosphere to celebrate the country's major holidays and the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
A delegation from Hoa Binh province led by Colonel Trinh Duc Thiem, Commander of the provincial Military Command, completed a mission to visit and encourage officers and soldiers stationed on Truong Sa and a DK1 platform from May 20 to 26 as part of activities of the Vietnam People’s Navy. The delegation included 12 senior officials from various provincial agencies and units.
Storytelling and painting contests honouring President Ho Chi Minh have been held at the Hoa Binh provincial Youth Activity Centre.
The Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee held a gathering at the provincial Military Command headquarters on May 20 to commend the armed forces that took part in a military parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30.
Throughout his revolutionary life, Uncle Ho visited Hoa Binh province four times. He also sent dozens of letters, telegrams, greeting cards, and heartfelt messages to local officials, Party members, and people of all ethnic groups, urging them to remain united, support one another, strive for progress, and actively engage in both production and resistance efforts to build a prosperous homeland.
To unlock the full potential of its forest resources, the standing board of the provincial Party Committee on July 30, 2020 issued a Resolution on the sustainable development of production forests through 2025, with a vision toward 2030.
