(HBO) - The Week of the Provincial Culture and Tourism in 2019 (Week) takes place in 5 days with many attractive programs, the Week has been greatly successful.

The art performance of Muong Gongs - an impressive highlight in the opening night of the Week of Culture - Tourism in Hoa Binh Province in 2019.

This is the first time Hoa Binh has organized a Week of the Provincial Culture -Tourism. This is an opportunity to honor the values of culture, the land and the people of Hoa Binh. Thereby, it has been promoting to the domestic and international friends, contributing to the investment and tourism development, making the province an attractive and friendly destination.

Accordingly, the quintessence of the national identity of Hoa Binh province has been gathered right in the opening ceremony of the Week with the theme "Hoa Binh – an epic land”. It is a special art program with 3 chapters: "The Echo of the roots”, "The Festival of the mountains” and "Hoa Binh wishes for a new day”. The art program has re-created the land and the people of Hoa Binh ever since "the land was and the country were still in the mind” in the epic "Laying soil, laying water” (Te tac te dac). Today, Hoa Binh has been lighting up the dreams of integration and development.

The mark of convergence has also been clearly shown in 250 photos on the display within the framework of the Festival of Art Photos with the theme "Hoa Binh - the country, the people”. The art lively photos have reflected the beautiful nature, the lifestyle, the activities, the customs and the festivals of the ethnic communities in Hoa Binh.

Each ethnic group naming in the land of Muong in Hoa Binh has its own unique products and cuisine. These delicious and unique dishes were gathered in the Food Festival and performed traditional crafts within the Week. Twelve culinary contest booths and displays from 11 districts and the city and Sao Bay Serena Resort - Kim Boi along with 10 typical trade villages of the localities in the province and some businesses took part in the fesstival. Right at the Opening Ceremony of the Festival, a giant food tray of over 20 dishes, made from more than 80 spices, has set the record of the largest Muong traditional tray on the leaves of the in Vietnam.

The space for displaying and performing intangible cultural heritages of Hoa Binh ethnic groups was located in Luy Ai hamlet, Phong Phu commune, and it mobilized over 100 artisans representing 5 ethnic minorities. They include Muong, Thai, Tay, Dao and Mong participating in the performance and it has created a lively cultural festival.

The sharp point in the series of Week’s events was the Final Night of the Beauty Contest of Muong ethnic people in 2019. The beauty contest has first been organized on the provincial scale to search and honor the great faces representing the traditional beauty of Muong girls. Thereby, Hoa Binh tourism ambassador has been found to serve tourism and cultural development of the province.

On the last day of the Week, the Organizing Committee held a Workshop on Developing Tourism Products of Hoa Binh Province in 2019.

Ms. Bui Thi Niem, the Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism says: With a series of interesting events, the Week of the Provincial Culture and Tourism has attracted the special attention from the local people, visitors and especially the media. Through the propaganda activities, it has been contributing to spreading the beautiful images of the land and Hoa Binh people to friends from all over the world. That will be a good foundation for Hoa Binh tourism to take off, and soon realize the goal of becoming a center of cultural tourism, leisure travel, and high-quality experience of the region and the world.

Located next to the Buoi River in the Muong Trao fields, the Truong Kha Temple is dedicated to the three Kun Dol deities, revered for teaching farming techniques, irrigation, weaving, and protecting the harvest.

Hoa Binh city residents enjoy upgraded cultural houses

The demand for spaces serving community activities of residents in various areas across Hoa Binh city has been satisfied as local cultural houses now feature modern, spacious facilities thanks to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 49/NQ-HDND issued on December 28, 2021 by the city People's Council, which approved the plan for reorganising, converting, and allocating land for the construction, repair, and expansion of cultural houses in Hoa Binh’s villages and residential areas until 2025.

Enhancing cultural and spiritual life in remote and ethnic minority areas

At the end of May, the Hoa Binh Provincial Ethnic Arts Troupe organized a series of performances for residents in Region 2 and Region 3 communes across the province. Bringing art to ethnic communities in remote, isolated, and especially disadvantaged areas has become a meaningful activity. These are not merely artistic performances but also journeys to disseminate cultural values, enrich spiritual life, and contribute to preserving the cultural identity of ethnic minorities.
