(HBO) – Special attention has been paid to the preservation of national cultural identity in Tan Lac district. A number of clubs have been established and promoted the national cultural identity in the area. The number of members joining the clubs is on the rise, ranging from the elderly, women, farmers to teenagers.

In mid-October, Gia Mo Commune People's Committee held a ceremony to launch the
communal singing club which gathers 25 members who are artists and lovers of
Muong folk songs.
Bui Van Vuong, chairman of the commune People's Committee, said the intangible
cultural heritage of thuong rang, bo meng and dum singing, some types of Muong
ethnic people's folk singing, is in danger of disappearing. In addition to
maintaining the activities of the village's art teams, the establishment of the
club is a playground, a place for people to meet and exchange. It
is also a place to keep the traditional values of Muong culture. The Party
Committee and local government want the club to develop, attract more members
and pass down Muong folk songs to the young generations, helping them
understand and love folk songs more.
There are clubs to preserve ethnic cultural identity in Ngoi hamlet - Suoi Hoa
commune and a club to preserve cultural identity in Dinh hamlet - Man Duc town
which were set up in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Most recently, the club for
doi, thuong rang and bo meng singing was formed in Gia Mo commune.
Along with preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic
group, the clubs maintain joint activities and teach members how to sing folk
songs, dum singing, lullabies, and the art of gong beating. The wearing of
national costumes in participating in club activities, local cultural and art
activities and holidays is also retained by club members. Activities of clubs
and art groups in villages engaged in community tourism, including Ngoi hamlet-
Suoi Hoa commune, Chien village - Van Son commune, Luy Ai hamlet- Phong Phu
commune, Buoi Cai hamlet- Phu commune Cuong also active in promoting unique
cultural values to tourists.
The district has established six clubs with the participation of over 100
artisans and people with the same interests, concentrated in Phong Phu, Nhan My
and My Hoa communes. The district's specialised unit has cooperated with the
core artisans to organise classes to teach Muong folk songs and Muong gongs in
communes.
Muong folk songs and
Muong gongs are also introduced into the school through the extra-curricular
program. More and more people of the young generation are being taught and
participating in preserving and promoting Muong cultural values.
