(HBO) – Hoa Binh, a land rich in cultural traditions and one of the cradles of ancient Vietnamese, boasts great potential and advantages for boosting socio-economic development, especially industry, high-tech agriculture, tourism, health care, and high quality education.
Defining culture as its internal strength and development motivation, Hoa Binh
has issued a resolution on the building and development of Hoa Binh culture and
people, meeting requirements of the country’s modernisation and
industrialisation as well as international integration. One of the major
contents of the resolution is to strengthen the promotion of the cultural
values and beauty of Hoa Binh people.
Over the years, Hoa Binh has rolled out various measures to maintain and
promote the local cultural values to other localities and abroad, including a
festival of cultures of local ethnic groups, a culture-tourism week,
cultural-sports-tourism events, the hosting of sports of the 31st Southeast
Asian Games, art performances and programmes, and tourism promotion activities.
The province has also optimised social networks to popularise its image to
international friends.
In order to continue strengthening communications on the local culture and
people, the provincial People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 14/KH-UBND dated
January 30, 2023, on the implementation of a project on popularising the local
image in the 2022-2025 period in 2023.
Accordingly, the province will focus on popularising the cultural tradition,
history and people of Muong ethnic minority group, local socio-economic
achievements, role models, and the image of Hoa Binh as a safe, friendly,
hospitable and visit-worthy place, along with the locality’s strengths and
investment opportunities and typical products.
Communications will be conducted via different channels such as TV, print
publication, e-newspapers, and events.
The provincial People’s Committee underlined that the information and
communication activities must follow the directions and tasks of the province,
refuting wrongful information about the province.
The committee also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with media
agencies and social media in the communications activities./.
Phong Phu commune, Tan Lac district of Hoa Binh province, is widely regarded as the cultural heartland of the Muong ethnic group. Among its many traditional communities, Luy Ai hamlet (formerly Ai hamlet) stands out as a rare location where the customs and way of life of the Muong Bi people remain largely intact.
The Truong Kha temple festival, a distinctive cultural event held every three years in Vu Ban township, Lac Son district, returned recently with vibrant rituals and folk traditions of the Muong people. Located next to the Buoi River in the Muong Trao fields, the Truong Kha Temple is dedicated to the three Kun Dol deities, revered for teaching farming techniques, irrigation, weaving, and protecting the harvest.
The demand for spaces serving community activities of residents in various areas across Hoa Binh city has been satisfied as local cultural houses now feature modern, spacious facilities thanks to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 49/NQ-HDND issued on December 28, 2021 by the city People's Council, which approved the plan for reorganising, converting, and allocating land for the construction, repair, and expansion of cultural houses in Hoa Binh’s villages and residential areas until 2025.
At the end of May, the Hoa Binh Provincial Ethnic Arts Troupe organized a series of performances for residents in Region 2 and Region 3 communes across the province. Bringing art to ethnic communities in remote, isolated, and especially disadvantaged areas has become a meaningful activity. These are not merely artistic performances but also journeys to disseminate cultural values, enrich spiritual life, and contribute to preserving the cultural identity of ethnic minorities.
