On May 8th, in Hanoi, the Golden Lotus Company held a press conference to announce the schedule for the national contest of Miss Vietnam - Miss National Vietnam. This is the beauty contest held in its first year with the message of honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women according to the modern criteria of "merit - tolerance - speech – virtue”.

The organizing committee of the national contest of Miss Vietnam has announced Misses Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Luong Thuy Linh and Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc as the official ambassadors of the contest.

There was the attendance of the representatives of the Organizing Committee, Advisory Board, Jury, journalists, reporters, sponsors, the beauty Queens, and runner-ups at the press conference. On Hoa Binh province's side, there was the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; the leaders from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Misses: Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Luong Thuy Linh, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc are officially the ambassadors of the contest.

It is expected that the competition will be spread evenly from May to December 2024. Specifically, from May - August there will be the activities in Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City with the preliminary content, the community activities, the Talented Beauties... From September - December in Hoa Binh City there will be accompanying events such as the Traveling Beauty, a tribute art night "Vong Khuc Proud” in Hoa Binh city... Especially, at the National Finals there will not have evening gowns, instead they will use and performe the traditional costumes of 3 regions. The new national Miss Vietnam will be crowned in a Vietnamese Ao Dai.

At the contest, each province or city has 1 contestant, and 5 centrally running cities have more than one contestant. The contest aims at the practical values for the community through humanitarian activities such as: "Greening Hoa Binh” project with a campaign to plant 1,000 trees; donating 70 million VND including gifts and cash to the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union to jointly implement the Vietnam breast cancer network project; presenting 100 gifts and 20 million VND in scholarships to the Vietnam Women's Union and planning an inspirational sharing session for women.

Making a speech at the press conference, Mr. Luu Huy Linh, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province says: Hoa Binh province has a cultural identity, natural environment, people... which are the valuable and important resources to develop tourism, bringing interesting experiences to domestic and international tourists. With the unique advantages, Hoa Binh province has been chosen to host the final round of the national Miss Vietnam 2024 contest. This is an opportunity for the province to promote culture, tourism and economy to friends domestically and internationally, we believe that the competition will be a great success.

At the press conference, the representative of the sponsor, Agroup, presented 1,000 banyan trees to the project of greening the road from Hoa Binh City to Thung Nai port (Cao Phong).

Miss National Vietnam contest aims to find beautiful, talented and knowledgeable girls to represent and promote the culture of the country's regions to friends around the world. The final night is expected to take place in December 2024 in Hoa Binh province, combining art performances of the famous artists, promising to bring a grand and impressive competition night.

The demand for spaces serving community activities of residents in various areas across Hoa Binh city has been satisfied as local cultural houses now feature modern, spacious facilities thanks to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 49/NQ-HDND issued on December 28, 2021 by the city People's Council, which approved the plan for reorganising, converting, and allocating land for the construction, repair, and expansion of cultural houses in Hoa Binh’s villages and residential areas until 2025.

Enhancing cultural and spiritual life in remote and ethnic minority areas

At the end of May, the Hoa Binh Provincial Ethnic Arts Troupe organized a series of performances for residents in Region 2 and Region 3 communes across the province. Bringing art to ethnic communities in remote, isolated, and especially disadvantaged areas has become a meaningful activity. These are not merely artistic performances but also journeys to disseminate cultural values, enrich spiritual life, and contribute to preserving the cultural identity of ethnic minorities.
