(HBO) – A traditional cross-country running tournament was organised in Yen Thuy district of Hoa Binh province on November 3.

The tourney attracted more than 60 athletes of 11 units from localities, the public security division, the Lac Thinh and Yen Tri high schools, and the boarding school for ethnic minority students of Lac Thuy district. They competed in men and women’s professional and junior events.

Organisers said although the number of runners was lower than in the previous years, their quality improved, especially young athletes.

In the men’s professional event, the first prize was presented to Nguyen Van Minh (the district’s public security division) while the second and third prizes respectively went to Bui Xuan Phuong (Phu Lai commune) and Bui Van Duc (Doan Ket commune).

In the women’s professional event, Bui Thi Luong (Yen Lac commune) finished first, followed by Bui Thi Nhi (Lac Sy commune), second, and Bui Thi Lieu (Da Phuc commune), third.

In the men’s junior event, the top prizes were respectively awarded to Bui Duc Kien (Yen Tri Junior High School), Tran Trung Duc (Yen Tri Junior High School) and Bui Hoang Minh (Phu Lai commune).

Meanwhile, Bui Thi Loan (Yen Lac commune) won the first prize, Bui Thi Huong (Lac Sy commune) and Bui Van Anh (Huu Loi commune) were in the second and third positions in the women’s junior event.

Through the tourney, 12 outstanding athletes were selected to receive further training to prepare for the 27th traditional cross-country running tournament 2018 – Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup./.

This sports event aims to promote the campaign "All people do exercises following the example of Great Uncle Ho” and it gradually helps develop the table tennis training movement among teenagers and children in Hoa Binh Province and neighboring provinces.

The International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province

In the morning of June 30th, at Hoa Binh Square, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Hanoi to organize the International Yoga Day in Hoa Binh province in 2024. There was the attendance of Mr. Bui Duc Hinh, the Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the leaders of a number of the appropriate departments, branches, unions... On the side of the Indian Embassy, there was Mr. S. Chinpau Ngaihte, the First Secretary (the Department of Economics, Trade & Development). There was the participation of 500 trainers and the members from 18 Yoga clubs in districts and the city in the province.

“Vovinam''s Impact of Hoa Binh Province”

Recently, the martial artists from our province left a lasting impression at the 2024 Northern Vovinam Championship organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Nam Dinh Province in collaboration with the Sports Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation. This championship has attracted the participation of over 300 athletes and coaches from 13 delegations representing various provinces and cities in the Northern region. The participants competed in 73 categories, including martial arts performances and sparring.
