(HBO) – The Division of Education and Training of Cao Phong district in Hoa Binh province has recently held a football tournament for primary and secondary students in the 2018-2019 academic year.

The tournament formed part of the district’s 5th Phu Dong Sports Festival this year, which gathered 26 football teams with more than 300 students from primary and secondary schools across the district.

The organisers awarded gold medals to the football team of the Primary School of Dung Phong commune.

The 26 football teams were divided into eight groups within which play in a round-robin format. The top team from each group advanced to the semi-finals and then the finals.

The Dung Phong Primary School topped the primary-student category, followed by the Thung Nai Primary School. The Nam Phong and Bac Phong Primary Schools shared the third prize.

The Tay Phong Secondary School championed the secondary-student category. Cao Phong township’s Secondary School came second while both Thung Nai and Binh Thanh Secondary Schools ranked third.

The tournament was seen as a good opportunity for local students to train their bodies and improve their health. It was also a chance for the organisers to select talented players to compete in the province’s Phu Dong Sports Festival in the time ahead./.
