(HBO) - Responding to the campaign "All people train their bodies following the great example of Uncle Ho", the people in Tuan Lo commune (Tan Lac) are always actively take part practicing in sports. Except for the volleyball, football, badminton or the national sports such as crossbow shooting, tug-of-war, stick pushing, swimming is considered a strong sport of the commune. At the traditional Swimming Competition of Tan Lac district in 2019, Tuan Lo commune has excellently won the whole-team first prize.

The traditional swimming competition of Tan Lac district in
2019 was held in May. Ten athletes from Tuan Lo commune participated in the
competition and achieved remarkable achievements. One second prize for the female
champion, one third prize for the men's champion and 2 consolation prizes for
the men’s champion. The athletes' force participating in the competition is
mainly people from the hamlets, who love swimming and often practice swimming
together for a few days in advance in the streams or dams. In order to achieve
these achievements, it is partly due to the interest and facilitation of
training of the Party Committee and appropriate authorities from the commune.
Thereby, a lot of promising nuclei such as Bui Thi Nghi, Bui Van Khoi, Bui Thi
Hiep, Dinh Thi Nu, Dinh Cong Vinh have been discovered.
From 2010 up to now, in the summer, the Party Committee and
the appropriate authorities of the commune have regularly organized classes for
free amateur swimming for the local people. This is also a condition for the
commune to develop its potential and strength in swimming. This swimming class
is directly taught by cadres, athletes or the people who have gained
experience. The learners participating in the swimming classes are quite
diverse but the majority is teenagers. Each class includes from 30-35 learners.
Ms. Bui Dinh Dinh, the Chairwoman of Tuan Lo People's
Committee says due to the limited system of material and infrastructure, there
is no swimming pool, so people have not been trained regularly. Every year, in
the summer, the commune’s authorities always pay attention to opening free
amateur swimming classes for the local children and people. This June, the free
swimming class has been maintained. The commune wishes to be invested in the
facilities to encourage and promote people to participate so that swimming can
become a spearhead sport of Tuan Lo commune.
A total of 85 young players from across Hoa Binh province recently participated in the provincial Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Organised by the provincial Centre for Youth Activities, the event was part of activities to celebrate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025) and the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – 2025).

On February 23, the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the General Department of Sports and Physical Training’s karate division and the provincial Karate federation, organised the 2025 national karate dan promotion exam at the provincial sports arena. The exam covered the first (Shodan), second (Nidan), and third (Sandan) dan levels, with no fourth (Yondan) or fifth (Godan) dan tests this year.

These events have become a cherished tradition among local ethnic communities, strengthening their solidarity and fostering their close bonds. They contribute to the robust development of grassroots sports movements, enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
