(HBO) - Recently, the people are actively practicing and preparing to compete in the Tan Pheo Chess Championship in 2020, organized by the Youth Communist Union of the commune in the coming time.

It is not only one of the sports practiced daily, now chess has been put into competition by Tan Pheo commune. Contributing to promoting the development of this sports, the communal Executive Committee of the Youth Communist Union organized a chess tournament and the participants are all youth union members, students and the people in the area. So far, the tournament has attracted nearly 50 people registered to compete. Through that, it has created an emulation movement and a playground of intellectual sports so that those who are passionate about chess can exchange, rub, meet and give each other experiences. 

Mr. Ha Van An, the Secretary of the communal Youth Communist Union says: "Promoting the movement of the sports practice, creating a playground for exchange and learning, strengthening the solidarity, the communal Youth Communist Union always organizes sports tournaments for Youth Union members to take in the competition every year. Currently, chess is gradually spreading throughout the branches of the Youth Communist Union and it is increasingly attractive to the local people. Additionally, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union wants each person to choose a suitable sport to practice regularly and practice a variety of sports to improve health”.

In addition to the Chess Championship in 2020, every year the Party Committee and the Government of the commune also organize from 4 to 5 sports tournaments on the occasion of the beginning of the new year, or the celebrations of the great national holidays ..., contributing to encouraging the movement "All people exercise their body following the example of the great Uncle Ho”, improving people's health and spirit, strengthening the solidarity, pushing the social evils and building the cultural life in the residential areas. In particular, the ethnic sports such as crossbow shooting, tug of war, stich pushing, cotton-ball throwing have always played an important role in the people's cultural and spiritual life. Thereby, the movement of practicing mass sports in the commune gradually has positive changes. In 2019, the number of people practicing sports regularly reached 30%, the proportion of the sports family accounts for 30% of the total number of households in the commune.
