Since early 2024, high-achievement sports athletes have received intensive training in preparation for provincial and national tournaments this year.

Many cyclists are diligently training on streets in Hoa Binh city, with a hope for a year of many achievements.

Last year, the province successfully organised many cycling races, including the national mountain biking and road cycling which took place from October 19-29, bringing together more than 300 athletes from 14 cities and provinces.  At the tournament, the provincial team earned five gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

The Hoa Binh Football Club (FC) has also resumed its training after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, striving to achieve high results at the National First Division Football League - Golden Star Beer 2023-2024.

At the provincial gymnasium, students of the Gifted School for Sports Training and Competition are also training with a high sense of determination.

Twelve-year-old boxer Vu Tuong Vi from Cay Ruong hamlet, An Binh commune, Lac Thuy district, said she has been under training at the school for four months, and she wishes to bring home many high achievements.

According to Luu Huy Linh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province will focus on improving the quality of high-achievement sports training this year, and selecting teams for regional and national tournaments.

“Vovinam''s Impact of Hoa Binh Province”

Recently, the martial artists from our province left a lasting impression at the 2024 Northern Vovinam Championship organized by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Nam Dinh Province in collaboration with the Sports Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation. At the National Championship for Stick Pushing and Tug of War in 2024 taking place in Dak Lak recently, a delegation of athletes from Hoa Binh province participated in both events. For stick pushing, they participated in 9 weight categories and won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. Notably, the two young athletes who were both born in 2006 are the children of Van Son commune (Lac Son) and have contributed a lot to the province's competition achievements.

Thuong Coc commune has been spreading the spirit of physical training and sports

In Thuong Coc commune (Lac Son), there are over 9,000 people, living in 14 hamlets. Recently, the commune has increased propaganda for the people so that they practice physical training and sports to improve health; Each person chooses a suitable sport and type of exercise, creating the healthy living habit. From there, it contributes to improving the physical and mental health, the enthusiasm for production, and joining hands to build an increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized homeland.

In the morning of May 15th, the Provincial Confederation of Labor coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the 2024 steam volleyball tournament for workers and civil servantsin Hoa Binh province.
