(HBO) - After a long period of "hibernation" caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kim Boi district’s tourism had a positive shift as the number of tourists visiting and relaxing in local resorts hiked.

Kim Boi mineral spring is preferred by many tourists as a weekend destination.

On weekends, many people flock to Serena Kim Boi resort, bringing lively and bustling atmosphere there. Nguyen Vinh Truong, a visitor from Bac Ninh province, said following his friends’ recommendation, he chose Serena Kim Boi resort as a destination and added that he was impressed by beautiful landscape, attentive and professional service, good housekeeping, unique food and other services. According to him, Kim Boi will become more attractive to tourists in and outside the province if local resorts are popularised more widely.

Together with Serena Kim Boi resort, An Lac Ecofarm and Hot Springs in Vinh Dong commune, Kim Boi mineral spring, nursing centre for veteran revolutionaries, Tu Son and Mat Troi falls have become attractive to visitors in and outside the province. It is understandable because Kim Boi has long been known as an ideal destination which boasts beautiful scenery, unique culture with traditional festivals, hi-end resorts and endless mineral water source. Tran Thu Huong from Hoa Binh city said taking advantage of the weekend, her family and three others chose Kim Boi mineral spring as a destination for children to have fun, bathe and relax before their upcoming semester exams. Apart from immersing themselves in cool mineral water, children had a chance to explore natural landscapes and local traditional culture via costumes and food.

Tourism is considered one of the spearhead economies of Kim Boi district. Nguyen Thanh Ha, head of the district Office of Tourism and Sport, said the district is carrying out a tourism development scheme for the 2017-2020 period with a vision to 2030. From the beginning of this year to the late May, the total tourist arrivals in the locality reached only 35,354 due to the impact of COVID-19, bringing in 65 billion VND in revenue. The district has set a goal of developing high-quality tourism with hi-end resorts and community-based tourism services. Accordingly, the locality is attaching importance to tapping strengths and potential of natural resources and calling for investment into tourism. In the near future, the district will offer more new destinations for visitors when more and more firms invest in tourism./.
