(HBO) – The Hoa Binh Ethnic Minority Boarding School (formerly the Socialist Young Workers School) has celebrated its 60th founding anniversary. The ceremony was attended by Tran Dang Ninh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council, and head of the provincial National Assembly deputy delegation; and Bui Van Cuu, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; among other officials and the school’s staff and students.
On February 1, 1958, the provincial Party Committee issued a decision
on the establishment of a school named "Youth School" at the proposal
of the local communist youth union. On April 1, 1958, the school opened its
first class. Over six decades of development, the Socialist Young Workers
School (now Hoa Binh Ethnic Minority Boarding School) has made great
contributions to the local educational and socio-economic development.

different periods.
From 1958 to 1991, the Hoa Binh Socialist Young Workers School
achieved outstanding achievements in both production and education - training.
The school educated more than 10,000 students from primary to tertiary levels
and trained over 1,000 personnel for the local administration system. On August
29, 1985, it was awarded with the title "Labour Hero Unit".
On November 7, 1991, the school was renamed Hoa Binh Ethnic
Minority Boarding School. In recent years, the boarding school has completed
its yearly teaching plans and taken the lead in national and provincial
emulation campaigns in education. It won various noble titles from the Party,
State and Ministry of Education. In 2017,
it was granted the third-class Labour Order.
Currently, the school has more than 80 percent of teachers meeting
teaching standards at the provincial level and 16 teachers owning master’s
degrees. The average rate of students with good conduct ranges between 97 and
99 percent and of those with good and excellent academic performances stays at
over 80 percent. In 2010 - 2018, the school has 869 students winning prizes at
provincial contests and 18 winning prizes at national competitions. The proportion
of students passing the national entrance exam for universities and colleges
for the 2017-2018 school year was 97 percent.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training bestowed
certificates of merit upon one group and five individuals for their contributions
to the school, while the provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's
Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented commemorative flags to
the school as a gift to celebrate its 60th founding anniversary./.
