Accordingly, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and per guidance of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Announcement No. 122/TB-VPCP dated March 24 of the Government Office, in order to prevent and curb community transmissions of the COVID-19 in large gatherings, leaders of districts and city and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, are tasked with:

For People’s Committees of districts and city:asking local businesses to halt cultural and sports services such as art performances, along with operations of cinema, karaoke and massage parlours, bars and sporting venues to avoid large crowds, contributing to the province’s COVID-19 prevention and combat endeavours. (Appropriate time for resumption will be discussed by local authorities and businesses depending on the COVID-19 situation).

Regarding wedding organisation:authorities and relevant agencies are asked to work with local organisations to bolster communications, while families are advised to organise weddings in a more suitable time when the pandemic is under control. In case it is not possible to change the date, the families need to carry out preventive measures in line with recommendations of the Ministry of Health. They are advised to scale down the event and refrain from pulling in the crowds, in a bid to protect their relatives and the community.

For funeral arrangements:leaders of communes, wards and townships are requested to team up with local organisations to support families in following regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control issued by the health sector in an effort to curb community transmissions.

For relic sites and tourist attractions:The People’s Committees and management boards of attractions in districts and city are asked to postpone festivals and religious rituals to avoid large gatherings. Relic sites and attractions will still be open for visitors but they must arrange personnel to provide guidance and recommendations of the health sector to visitors and strictly follow COVID-19 preventive measures.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism should collaborate with the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Health to guide, supervise and inspect the implementation of the document and report to the Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee./.
