(HBO) - On March 30 afternoon, a delegation of Hoa Binh province led by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, paid a working visit to FPT Corporation in Hanoi.

joining the delegation were Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; and Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. The delegation was received by Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors and other key leaders of the corporation.

FPT Corporation, established on September 13, 1988, operates in three core business areas of technology, telecommunications and education. To date, FPT owns telecommunications infrastructure covering 59 out of the 63 provinces and cities and is expanding its operation in the global market with 48 offices in 26 countries and territories, and around 40,000 employees. 

Currently, the corporation is focusing its existing resources on research and development of artificial intelligence and digital transformation with the goal of providing information technology (IT) products and services capable of replacing imports, contributing to the development of telecoms, finance, banking, customs, aviation, commerce, e-commerce, public services, education and training, health care, and defence and security, and improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese IT enterprises. 

The corporation wishes to invest in building a project of a concentrated IT and education urban area with a scale of about 70 hectares in Hoa Binh city targeting the building of a centre for research and production of software products, digital transformation tools for international strategic customers in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Europe, the US and the Vietnamese market; and of a concentrated IT zone for Hoa Binh in particular and the northwestern region in general. 

It proposed local authorities consider and agree to allow FPT survey, research and propose ideas for building projects, contributing to human resources training, digital transformation, and digital economic development in the province. 

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Long briefed FPT leaders on the advantages in terms of geographical location, history and culture of Hoa Binh province. 

He expressed his hope to cooperate with the corporation in promoting digital transformation, developing education in mountainous areas by constructing an FPT school, building a software company to attract high-tech investors, and developing circular, green and sustainable economy. The province is committed to creating favourable conditions and providing maximum support for FPT to accomplish the set goals./.
