The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association - former specialists of the Ministry of National Defense opens the third congress for the tenure of 2017-2022 on October 21 inHanoi.

The event was attended by former member of the Politburo and head of the liaison board of former Vietnamese specialists in Cambodia Vu Oanh.

In the 2012-2017 term, the association continued to carry out many meaningful activities, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

Many former specialists contributed a lot of good articles to reviewing Vietnamese former specialists’ activities during the ten years of supporting the Cambodian revolution and in historical information dissemination and education for the younger generations. Over the past years, the association has made advisory proposals to the Party, State and authorities on implementing policies for former specialists.

Besides, the association has also carried out a number of meaningful gratitude activities, such as caring for former specialists, sick and wounded soldiers and martyrs’ families.

For these outstanding achievements, the association and many of its members have been awarded with the Certificate of Merit of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association for five consecutive years.

At the event, the delegates worked out direction and tasks in the coming time and elected members of the executive committee for the tenure of 2017-2022.
