(HBO) - Ms. Nguyen Thi Khuong, the Chairwoman of the Women's Union in the district says that the program coordinated between the district’s Union and the Center of Culture, Information and Sports held the village fair - sharing the typical examples in the field of economic development associated with the traditional costume performance, which is a highlight of the supporting activities for women to start-up and develop economy in the first 6 months of this year.

The organic vegetable products of members of the Women’s Union in Lam Trong village, Nua Dam commune (Kim Boi) have traceability stamps, ensuring the standards, being trusted by consumers.


Ms. Nguyen Trom the above highlight activities, together with the support of the project "Strengthening the self-help capacity for the ethnic minority communities in Kim Boi district" and the Center for Support and Development of Women and Children, the Coordinating Board of Kim Boi Supervising Office has organized a training course for inspectors for 40 delegates of interest groups of 4 communes, Tuc Dam, End Ha, Vinh Tien and Binh Son. They have organized 2 training courses on the knowledge of the production of the organic vegetable and chicken production for people from 4 communes, who benefit from the project. They have also organized 2 training classes instructing how to make stamps for traceability and have established 4 groups of organic vegetable production, 2 groups of safe chicken raising and 2 groups of natural beekeeping. 

Currently, these groups have gone into the stable production and have a stable output. In addition, the Union has cooperated with Hung Nhu Co., Ltd. to open an electronic assembly workshop at the People's Committee of Ving Dong commune and Bai hamlet, Kim Son commune, creating jobs for 105 female members in the two communes.

The movement helping the poor women has been paid attention by the Union. Right from the beginning of the year, after reviewing the poor households in communes and town, the Union reviewed and analyzed the causes of poverty to develop a plan to help the poor members. The Union has cooperated with other mass organizations to direct the grassroots association to help the poor members in various forms such as effectively maintaining the savings funds, taking advantage of the support resources from the programs and livelihood projects and so on.

In order to help women with capital for production, the Union’s facilities have maintained a movement to help each other develop the family economy and at the same time exploit and well manage the bank loans well. Currently, the total outstanding loans of Social Policy Bank has reached over 129 billion VND with 119 savings and credit groups with about 4,851 turns of borrowing households; the total outstanding loans of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development is 11.5 billion VND with 2 groups, 100 borrowing members to develop the family economy. They have newly established 7 circular groups of wards (raising the total to 63 groups / 895 members of the whole Union).

In the first 6 months of 2019, 210 million VND has been saved to help 65 members build the hygienic latrines. The borrowing groups has been well promoting the role of managing the entrusted capital. The households borrowing capital have used the money for the right purpose to develop production, business, cultivation and husbandry, which has brought the economic efficiency, increased income and improved the lives of the members. Many members can earn between 100-200 million VND a year.
