(HBO) - On the morning of March 14th, at the Hoang Van Thu Gifted High School, the Department of Education and Training organized "Honoring Teachers and Students Participating in the National Science and Technology Competition".


Previously, from 10 to 13 March, in Vinh city, Nghe An province took place the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the school year of 2017-2018 in the Northern Region. This year's contest was attended by 249 projects in 22 fields with the participation of 475 students from 34 provinces and cities. This is the year which has had the highest number of projects ever contested.

The trend of this year's projects is increasing in the field of IT applications such as system software, embedded systems, robots and intelligent machines; biomedical and health sciences. All projects are focused on solving problems associated with local practices such as environment, machinery, technology to support agricultural production and medical treatment.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 124 prizes for the best projects, including 13 first prizes, 26 second prizes, 38 third prizes and 47 forth prizes.


The leaders of the Department of Education and Training congratulated the teachers of guiding the students winning the prize.

This year, Hoa Binh province had six participating projects in the fields of behavioral sciences, physical energy, physics and astronomy, biomedical sciences and health sciences. The result is that the project "Brake warning and braking safety enhancement equipment for dump vehilces" won the second prize, "Equipment for water purification by solar energy and hydrostatic pressure" won the third prize, "ViEth - 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups" won the fourth prize.

At the honoring ceremony, the leaders of Department of Education and Training recognized and praised the efforts of teachers and students; parental involvement; the professional support from some scientists for the project to achieve encouraging results. At the same time, they expressed their expectations that this creative movement in science and technology will continue to be cared and interested in for muchmore development.
