(HBO) – At every year-end, Hang Kia commune in the mountainous district of Mai Chau will be blanketed with white plum blossom, signaling the arrival of a new spring. With its unique and pristine landscape, the locality has become a charming destination to both domestic and foreign visitors.

Hang Kia commune in Mai Chau district is home to H’Mong people. A month prior
to the traditional Tet festival (Lunar New Year), along paths to the commune
are plum gardens with white flowers blooming in the morning mist and gentle
sunlight, turning the whole area vividly bright in early spring.
The pure white of plum blossoms in
the mountains of the northwest region creates a charming landscape, bringing
hope for a prosperous and happy new year ahead. The beauty not only charms the
locals but also fascinates many tourists near and far.
Leaving behind the hustle and bustle
of crowded streets in big cities, many youngsters choose to come to the
mountainous areas to capture exquisite moments of the plum and peach trees or
with local children.
In recent years, the life of local
H’Mong ethnic people has seen a great facelift, especially traffic
infrastructure with roads were concreted, making transportation easier to
far-flung hamlets.
Besides, several sports fields,
cultural houses and other public works were built, helping attract more
visitors to Hang Kia to experience unique tourism activities such as "clouds
hunting”, mountain climbing, or immersing themselves in rich cultural
characteristics as well as interesting community tourism services of the
locality.
Giang A La, Chairman of the Board of Directors
and Director of Hang Kia Agricultural and Tourism Service Cooperative, said
that his cooperative was established with 11 member households. With support
and guidance of local authorities, the cooperative has developed homestay
tourism and other tourism products such as picking and plant fruits, painting
beeswax, clouds-hunting, pounding Day (glutinous) cakes, visiting fruit
orchards, among others to lure visitors.
In 2020, Hang Kia’s community tourism was recognised by the Provincial People's
Committee as a 4-star OCOP (One Commune, One Product) product, which has
contributed to affirming the prestige and quality of a safe and friendly
destination.
With existing potentials, provincial, district and local authorities have been
accompanying locals to develop community tourism models, providing skills in
hospitality to them in order to diversify tourism experiences for visitors.
Efforts by the local administration
have helped turn Hang Kia to become an attractive tourist destination, creating
more sustainable livelihoods for people, stabilising lives of the locals,
developing socio-economic, repelling backward customs, and building rich and
beautiful and civilised villages./.
In recent years, Thung Nai commune on has undergone significant changes in its appearance, landscape, and lives of local residents. Road 435 from Hoa Binh City to Tan Lac district’s Suoi Hoa commune, passing through the Thung Nai commune, has helped attract many tourists to the area.
A seminar on promoting the startup movement among high school students has been held recently by the provincial Department of Education and Training and the Vietnam National University of Agriculture at Tan Lac High School in Tan Lac district of Hoa Binh province.
In the morning of April 24th, at Uncle Ho’s Monument on Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Project, Vietnam Youth Federation coordinated with Hoa Binh Youth Federation to organize the journey "I love my Fatherland” to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
From the fact that the market takes place only every Tuesday, Bo market in Van Son commune (Tan Lac) officially takes place every Sunday from March 24. Thereby, the aim is to turn the market into a place promoting the cultural identity of Muong people in Hoa Binh and the consumption of goods and products of the neighboring communes, meeting the needs of tourists for the local products when travelling to Van Son at weekends.
