Nguyen Duc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial Labour Federation, said social resources have been mobilised to organise practical and effective activities under this year’s programme.

As a result, local trade unions at all levels arranged visits and presented 168 gifts worth over 186 million VND (7,844 USD) to union members and workers encountering difficulties and labour accidents. They also supported the construction of five houses worth 240 million VND; signed cooperation agreements for welfare programmes serving union members; and organised discount sales and health care events for the group. Notably, a forum titled "Workers for Enterprises, Enterprises for Workers" was held, with 1,075 union members participating and 39 feedback and opinions recorded.

Meanwhile, to care for the cultural and spiritual life of union members, 852 sport and artistic events took place, gathering over 15,600 employees. The provincial Labour Federation also ran a Facebook photo contest on the charm of the group, attracting hundreds of entries.

The development of membership was also a highlight. Accordingly, before and during the month, 10 new grassroots trade unions were established; 2,412 new members were admitted; and 548 outstanding members were recommended for Party membership consideration.

The flexibility and creativity of trade unions at all levels during the Workers' Month have contributed to better care and protection for the members and enhanced the position and role of trade union organisations in the province./.
