Upholding his pioneering and exemplary role, Dinh Cong Nhieu, Secretary of the Party cell of Ong hamlet, Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district, has been actively promoting economic development and dedicating himself to community work. His efforts have brought positive changes to the hamlet, earning him the trust and admiration of local residents.

Dinh Cong Nieu frequently visits households in the hamlet to understand their needs and share his expertise in cage fish farming, contributing to economic growth.

Ong hamlet, home to 132 households and over 670 residents. Serving as Secretary of the hamlet Party cell for over eight years, Nieu, along with the Party cell and the local management board, has been instrumental in residents to comply with Party directives and government policies. He has encouraged participation in the new rural development movement and the campaign to build a united and cultured community. Additionally, he has promoted economic transformation by advocating for livestock farming and commercial production, improving household incomes and poverty reduction.

Recognising the hamlet's natural advantages for cage fish farming, Nieu pioneered the model in 2010 with one fish cage. Over time, he expanded his operation to eight cages, generating a stable income. With a variety of fish such as black carp, catfish, and tilapia, his annual earnings after expenses range from 100 to 200 million VND. More importantly, he has shared his expertise with other households, leading to the adoption of cage fish farming by six additional families, collectively running over 26 fish cages.

The community now enjoys a better quality of life, thanks to government support and the shift towards sustainable economic practices, Nieu noted. By the end of 2024, Ong hamlet had reduced its number of impoverished households to 19, with 21 near-poor households.

Nieu has set an example in both economic development and social movements, actively participating in new style rural area building initiatives and donating land for infrastructure projects. In 2024, the hamlet Party cell and local authorities successfully encouraged 46 households to donate over 13,800 sqm of land for the expansion and concrete paving of a 6-metre-wide road connecting Ong hamlet to the Thung Bang production area. Notably, residents voluntarily contributed land without requesting compensation, facilitating local infrastructure projects and enhancing the rural landscape.

His efforts have inspired the community to actively participate in the "All people unite to build new style rural areas" campaign, improving rural development standards and focusing on sustainable production while maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful environment. Today, Ong hamlet boasts well-developed transportation and cultural infrastructure, and its residents enjoy a significantly improved quality of life, with an average annual income exceeding 40 million VND per person.
