(HBO) - Efforts have been made to call for donations from agencies, organisations, individuals, and firms in both Hoa Binh and other localities for the "For the Poor” fund of the province. More than 14.29 billion VND (618,000 USD) has been raised.
Thanks to the fund,
396 great solidarity houses with a total cost of 11 billion VND were built, and
61 houses of 587 million VND repaired for poor and near-poor and disadvantaged
families.
In addition, the
province helped 253 people with various activities from production and medical
checkups, and provided aid to poor students with a budget worth 364 million
VND.
The provincial
Fatherland Front handed over 29,265 relief aid sets for impoverished households
ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
One steel-reinforced
concrete bridge was built at a cost of 2.5 billion VND in Nghia village of Cuoi
Ha commune (Kim Boi district). The fund also joined hands with the Hoa Binh
petrol and oil branch to build classrooms and boarding houses for the Thung Nai
elementary and secondary semi-boarding school for ethnic students (Cao Phong
district) with a budget of 3 billion VND; and Everfam company to install 315
water purifiers costing 3 billion VND for 66 schools of 31,515 students./.
