(HBO) – The Information and Education Department under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army has coordinated with the Military History Institute of Vietnam and the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee to hold a press conference to introduce a ministry-level symposium on the Hoa Binh Campaign, on the occasion of this campaign’s 70th anniversary (December 10, 1951 - 2021).
The press briefing was chaired by Col. Tran Ngoc Anh, deputy head of the Information and Education Department under the General Department of Politics; Col. Nguyen Van Sau, Deputy Director of the Military History Institute of Vietnam; and Nguyen Thi Minh Thuan, Vice Chairwoman of the information and education board of the provincial Party Committee.

Officials provided the press with information about the theme, purpose, significance, agenda, and sidelines activities of the symposium. Preparations for the event and activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Hoa Binh Campaign were also introduced.
Col. Tran Ngoc Anh said this is the first time the Ministry of National Defence has worked with the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee to organise a ministry-level scientific workshop on the Hoa Binh Campaign.
The workshop will provide an insight into the domestic and international context, especially in the three Indochinese countries, at the time of the campaign; as well as the French colonialists’ plot and ruses to occupy and build a defence system in the Hoa Binh - Da River - Road 6 area.
The event aims to affirm the clear-sighted and creative leadership by the Party Central Committee, led by President Ho Chi Minh, which grasped the opportunity and decisively launched the Hoa Binh Campaign to defeat the French colonialists when they attacked the Hoa Binh - Da River - Road 6 area. It will also clarify the uniqueness of the military art by the Party Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the General High Command in the Hoa Binh Campaign; the development of military art; as well as armed forces and people’s role and contributions to this campaign, thereby pointing out the campaign’s significance and experiences so as to help with the national development and defence at present.
The symposium is scheduled to take place via videoconference on December 7, connecting Hoa Binh province with 12 other places of military units./.

The 17th-tenure Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee recently convened its 20th meeting. The session was chaired by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Bui Thi Minh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People's Council; and Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee. Also in attendance were other members of the provincial Party Committee and leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.
A delegation of the Indian Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambasador Sandeep Arya paid a working trip to Hoa Binh province on April 1, aiming to explore cooperation opportunities.
