(HBO) – The national mountain bike and road racing championships 2023 kicked off at Hoa Binh Square in Hoa Binh province on October 19. The opening ceremony was attended by leaders of the Sports Authority of Vietnam, the Vietnam Cycling Federation, the organising committee, the jury, and athlete delegations.

The tournament attract more than 200 male and female athletes from 13 delegations nationwide, namely Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Son La, Vinh Phuc, An Giang, Dong Thap, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Vinh Long, Hoa Binh, and the army.

The event looks to help implement the Party’s viewpoint on developing the sports movement and improving people’s spiritual life. It is also an occasion for Hoa Binh to introduce its tourism potential, culture, and people to other localities.

After the opening ceremony, athletes competed in the men’s and women’s individual cross-country timing and relay categories.

On the first competition day, Dinh Van Linh of Hoa Binh won the first prize in the men’s individual cross-country timing event, Pham Le Xuan Loc from the army delegation the second prize, and Bui Van Nhat of Hoa Binh the third prize.

In the women’s individual cross-country timing category, Dinh Thi Nhu of Binh Duong finished first, followed by Bui Thi Hue of Binh Duong and Ca Thi Thom of the army delegation.

Hoa Binh secured the first place in the men’s cross-country relay category, followed by the army delegation and Hanoi.

Meanwhile, the delegations of the army, Binh Duong, and An Giang respectively won the top places in the women’s cross-country relay category.

The championships are scheduled to last through October 29. In particular, the mountain bike races last from October 19 to 22 while the road race events from October 24 to 29.

Enforcement Departments of 7 Provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous Regions On February 19th, at the Hoa Binh Province Sports Hall, the Cluster of Judicial Departments and Civil Judgment Enforcement Departments of 7 provinces in the Northeastern and Mountainous regions, including Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Bac Giang and Phu Tho organized a friendly sports competition. A total of 52 athletes from the provinces in the cluster participated in the competition.
