The festival offered an opportunity for locals and tourists to explore the rich culture of the Muong ethnic people, and engage in various exciting activities.

On the occasion, local authorities received the decisions recognising the Heritage Tree status for the three ancient lychee trees in Van Son commune’s Chien hamlet, and a carya sinensis (Annamocarya sinensis) in Quyet Chien commune’s Bac Thung hamlet.

This recognition helps preserve the nation's genetic resources, honour the value of plant resources, and protect local landscapes. It also aims to raise public awareness of protecting natural resources and the environmental, and develop tourist attractions to support community-based tourism and new-style rural area building in Van Son and Quyet Chien.

At the festival, a wide range of activities were organised, including a contest to introduce local cultural, tourism, and agricultural products, a cuisine contest, a show featuring traditional Muong ethnic costumes, musical performances, folk games, and sports activities, among others.

The festival was part of the Hoa Binh Culture - Tourism Week, which was also a step to implement Resolution No. 13, dated October 17, 2022, of the StandingBoard of the provincialParty Committeeon developing highlandcommunes of Tan Lac districtinto provincial-level tourist areasby 2030, with a vision to 2050.

It was also intended to help stipulate tourism demand and introduce Tan Lac land and people to domestic and international visitors.
