(HBO) – Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Binh province People’s Committee, on July 6 led a delegation on a fact-finding tour of tourism projects around Hoa Binh lake invested by Hoa Binh Tourism JSC.

At the working session, Vu Duy Bong, Chairman of the Managing Board and General Director of Hoa Binh Tourism JSC, gave an overview of the two projects and reported on their progress.

The Robinson tourism resort project covers more than 50 hain Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district. With a total cost of 600 billion VND (26.4 million USD), the project is divided into four phases which will last for nine years.

It is designed to have 78 villas, two centred accommodation areas, each with 50 rooms, and one five-star bungalow area. The project is expected to welcome the first visitors in mid 2019.

According to Bong, the signing of investment fund, the assessment of demand for land use and procedures relating to land clearance were completed in February 2017. Land clearance compensations were given to the Da Bac district People’s Committee.

The investor is asking for the approval of the transfer of land-use purposes and the forestation plan in 10 ha of land on Sung island.

The ecological and Muong culture tourism site project sits on an area of 1,230 ha in Ngoi hamlet, Ngoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district, with a cost of more than 400 billion VND (17.6 million USD). The two-phase project will be implemented for five years, starting from 2017.

In October 2016, the investor signed a five-year cooperation and no-interest loan agreement with seven households of Ngoi hamlet to upgrade their stilt houses in a way that can preserve traditional architecture and to upgrade toilets so that they are qualified for serving visitors. The company has also given training in service skills to local residents.

The tourist site was officially open for tourists on April 30, 2017, welcoming about 1,400 visitors each month.

The company also inked labour contracts with local residents whose monthly income is 3 million VND (132 USD). Many households have gained good business results, and some of them have earned 8 million VND (352 USD) each month. The firm has always combined tourism development with traditional culture preservation and environmental protection.

Additionally, Hoa Binh province is assisting the investor in building the electricity system and the main road on the island. It is also preparing capital for constructing a port there. The business has also been supported in terms of telecommunication infrastructure, training for families providing community-based tourism services, and popularisation of tourist sites and services.

In his closing remarks, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Chuong highly valued efforts and outcomes in tourism projects of the Hoa Binh Tourism Investment JSC. The firm has continually been one of the leading enterprises investing in local tourism and effectively implementing projects to turn tourism into a spearhead industry of Hoa Binh.
