(HBO) – As a bright spot of Hoa Binh tourism, over the past years, Mai Chau has rolled out many solutions to develop tourism, aiming to effectively tap potential and advantages on local tourism, contributing to giving a facelift to rural areas and improving and raising the quality of locals’ life.

Mai Chau district has implemented the resolution of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province on developing Mai Chau district into a national tourist site by 2020 with a vision to 2030. A conference was held to evaluate tourism development in the district, while management regulations on tourism activities within the Mai Chau national tourism development planning area were announced.

 

Mai Chau also directed the successful organisation of the festival of community-based tourism villages in the Northwest region. Alongside, the district has enhanced the preservation and promotion of cultural identity of local ethnic groups.




Mai Chau Ecologde - an attractive tourist destination for foreign tourists

Together with promoting and preserving the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the district, the attraction of investment and implementation of trade and tourism projects in the locality have been prioritised. So far, the whole district has hosted seven tourism projects with a total registered capital of 83 billion VND, of which 56 billion VND was disbursed.

 

In addition, the district also focused on building tourism infrastructure to attract visitors, constructing Mai Chau - Na Phon - Chieng Chau road, Hieng-Noong Luong village road, a welcome gate in the district downtown and a stop station at the flagpole of Nhuoi village in Tong Dau commune. The district now has 146 tourist accommodation establishments, including seven hotels, 22 hostels, 117 community guest houses, increasing 40 establishments compared to the beginning of 2016. The district also has seven community-based tourism destinations - Lac Village (Chieng Chau commune), Buoc Village (Xam Khe), Van Village, Pom Coong Village (Mai Chau town), Hich Village (Mai Hich commune), Pa Co Village (Pa Co commune) and Hang Kia Village (Hang Kia commune).

To turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the district, in the coming time, Mai Chau will continue bringing into full play its advantages in geography and natural landscapes, boosting investment attraction and developing tourism in key tourist areas.

The district will also invest more in tourism infrastructure, associate tourism development with the building of new-style rural area, while building a national tourist site in Mai Chau town and three neighbouring communes./.
