(HBO) – Statistics show Mai Chau district welcomed 247,857 tourists in the first nine months of 2018.

Of the figure, there were 166,015 domestic and 81,842 foreign holidaymakers, equivalent to 75.1 percent of the target assigned by the provincial authorities. Total revenue of tourism in the period hit more than 80 billion VND (3.45 million USD). Thus, Mai Chau is the locality with the highest number of foreign arrivals of the province, accounting for 40 percent of the province’s total.


With cultural diversity and the pristine beauty of natural landscape, Mai Chau has become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign visitors.

To meet travelling and vacationing demand of visitors, Mai Chau continues to ensure efficient management of accommodation facilities and tourist destinations in the district.

The district currently has 146 accommodation establishments, including seven hotels, 22 hostels, and 117 communal guesthouses. Furthermore, there are seven community-based tourism facilities.

In the remaining months of 2018, Mai Chau district will increase tourism promotion activities and develop locally-unique tourism products while improving quality of current products and services.

It also works to add more types of tourism and enhance capacity of tourism workers and infrastructure, along with reviewing activities of local tourist destinations for better services.

In addition, tourism businesses will launch various promotional policies to draw more visitors during major holidays. Especially, the district will continue its programme to bolster tourism during low season./.
