the carp has the richest composition with 123 species, belonging to 59
genera, accounting for 70.6% of the total species. The next is mudfish with 28 species,
belongingto 12 genera, accounting for 16% of the total species. Especially, 19 species
of high economic value, 8 species of precious fish including Bagarius yarrelli,
Semilabeo notabilis, Hemibagrus and Sinilabeo lemassomi are listed in the red
book. There are 13 fish species playing an important role in the economic
life of the local
people withinthe Da River area. They are Ctenopharyngodon idella, Hypophthalmichthys, Cyprinus carpio, Hypophthalmichthys
nobilis, Bagarius bagarius and so on. The province is implementing the management and good
exploitation of provincial potentiality and making the trademark of Da River
fish in association with tourism development and improvement of the people’s life within Da River reservoir./.
