The November 9 event was attended by representatives from the Association of Czech Travel Agents, large travel companies in the countries like Cedok, Eximtour, Blue Style, Marco Polo who are members of the famtrips to Vietnam in October, and reporters from local media.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan affirmed that Vietnam boasts huge potential and strength to develop tourism thanks to its diversified art culture and cuisine together with a treasure trove of tourist attractions comprising eight UNESCO world heritage sites.

The Government is working to complete legislative system and set up an appropriate strategy to make tourism become a spearhead economic sector, he said, adding that the country welcomed 10 million international visitors in 2016 and the figure is expected to surge 25-30 percent to 13 million in 2017.

Tuan stressed that there are large room for Vietnam and the Czech Republic to promote tourism cooperation as the number of Vietnamese arrivals to the European country is still limited due to the Czech Republic’s halt on visa issuance for Vietnamese as well as shortage of direct flights and effective tourism promotion programmes.

He hoped that members of the Czech famtrips will play a crucial role in bolstering tourism cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

Expressing their impression on their experiences in Vietnam, the delegates lauded Vietnam’s potential to develop tourism with stable socio-economic situation, competitive tourism costs and alluring tourism products.

Ales Ruzicka from the Czech radio station told Vietnam News Agency correspondents that Vietnam is a beautiful and safe country with friendly local people and a wide range of specialties.
