(HBO) - Invested by MED-GROUP Medical Group, the mission of the Vietnam Scientists Heritage Center and the Vietnam Scientists Heritage Park (MEDDOM) is researching, collecting, preserving and promoting the heritage of scientists in Vietnam.

Students from the High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Pedagogy visit documents and artifacts of scientists on display at the Museum of the Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists.

After 15 years of construction and development, MEDDOM studied nearly three thousand scientists in all disciplines and scientific fields. They collected nearly a million documents and artefacts, and hundreds of thousands of minutes of recorded stories of Vietnamese scientists.

MEDDOM was founded based on the desire to keep the comments and autographs of teachers on personal theses of Professor, PhD, labour hero Nguyen Anh Tri. In 2004, the then Director of the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and other members established the MED group and decided to voluntarily invest in construction to preserve and promote the heritage of Vietnamese scientists.
The park was built on an area of 2.7 ha in Tieng village, Bac Phong commune, Cao Phong district.

According to Prof Nguyen Anh Tri, after the establishment, in May 2010, MEDDOM received the first collection of documents and artifacts of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Nhan. After that, the park collected dozens of collections of documents and artifacts of other well-known scientists, including Professors Ton That Tung, Nguyen Van Chien, Doan Trong Truyen, Pham Duc Duong, Dang Huy Huynh.

MEDDOM has so far studied nearly three thousand scientists in all disciplines and scientific fields. They have collected nearly a million documents and artefacts, and hundreds of thousands of minutes of recorded stories of Vietnamese scientists. This is a "giant" treasure which plays an important role in understanding and researching about the life of scientists, the history of branches and fields of science, the history of education, and socio-political history.

MEDDOM has dozens of publications related to scientists, such as The Legacy of Scientists' Memory (eight volumes), Artefact Stories (five volumes), Profile of Particles Secret Seeds and All Roads to Success.

Dozens of exhibitions have been held, attracting public interest, especially from the younger generation.
Since 2016, the park has attracted thousands of visitors every year, becoming a favourite destination of many tourists throughout the country.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, CEO of MEDDOM said that in the coming time, they will continue to promote research and collection activities to organize the display of scientists' stories. Their aim is also to build a data bank and apply digital transformation technologies to bring data and serve visitors.

"We will also design and build heritage education activities for many audiences, especially pupils and students. MEDDOM has now developed into a complex of heritage, culture, entertainment and relaxation suitable for all subjects in a 34-hectare space”, Hoa said./.
