Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved master plans to 2030 for the development of Xuan Dai Bay in Phu Yen province and Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh province.

Under the planning for Xuan Dai Bay, 1,200 hectares of land in Song Cau town and An Ninh Dong and An Ninh Tay communes of Tuy An district will be zoned off as the core area for developing tourism.

The site expects to welcome some 850,000 visitors, including 25,000 foreigners, by 2025 and 1.2 million people by 2030, including 35,000 foreigners. It also set a target of earning total tourism revenues of over VND 400 billion (US$ 17.6 million) by 2025 and VND 900 billion (US$ 39.7 million) by 2030.

Domestic visitors are expected to arrive from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, northern region, central southern region, and Central Highlands while targeted foreign markets include countries and territories in Western Europe, North America, Eastern Europe, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The plan focuses on key products such as sport and leisure travel, camping, and tour to explore indigenous culture, history, as well as cuisine from the locality.

Meanwhile, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is set to meet all the criteria of a National Tourist Site by 2030, under its master plan approved by the Prime Minister.

The park is aiming for 3.5 million visitors in 2030, including 500,000 foreigners. Revenue from tourism at the site is expected to exceed VND 8.2 trillion 2030.

Tourist products provided to visitors will be focused on exploring cave system at the park as well as biological diversity, indigenous culture, and archaeological vestiges.

In addition to improving the current available tours for visitors to the park, the plan will also develop new tours, including a river tour across Son, Trooc and Chay rivers, an excursion to Gia Phai lake and Ben Dap mountain, ecological tours, and community-based tourism products.
