HBO - An exhibition of maps and documents affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos opened at Muong Bi Senior High School in Tan Lac district on April 16.

 

The "Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa: historical and legal evidences” exhibition was organised by the provincial Department of Information and Communication in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training and the Tan Lac district People’s Committee. 

Local officials, armed forces, youths and students at the exhibition.

Hundreds of valuable historical documents, objects, publications, and maps on display were collected by both domestic and foreign scholars and researchers. Those include copies of Han (Chinese) – Nom (Vietnamese ideographic script) documents, Vietnamese and French documents issued by the Vietnamese feudal administration and the French authorities in Indochina during the 17th to 20thcentury. They are parts of the historical and legal evidence, proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

The exhibition aims to help local officials, party members and people of all ethnic groups in Tan Lac district gain a deeper insight into the current situation in the East Sea through official sources of information. Besides, it raises public awareness of the responsibility to protect national sovereignty of the sea and islands.
