With construction beginning in February 2016, the Mien Doi 1 hydropower plant was put into use last month. It was built in Tre hamlet, Mien Doi commune at the total cost of more than 53.7 trillion VND by Mien Doi One Member Limited Company. The two-turbine plant has a total designed capacity of 1.6 MW.

Meanwhile, the Mu stream hydropower project with total investment of more than 198 trillion VND is expected to become operational in June and generate commercial electricity in the third quarter of this year. The project, which was launched in July 2017, has three turbines with a total designed capacity of 9MW.

Vice Chairman of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dang Ninh asked investors to pay due attention to ensuring damp safety by following the Department of Industry and Trade’s instruction on the issue. Besides, solutions to assuring safety for people and the grid must be prioritised.

He also asked the investor of the Mu stream hydropower plant project to accelerate the construction so that the plant can be put in to use on schedule. He particularly laid stress on the building of a drainage system as it helps protect the damp./.
