(HBO) - The People's Committee of Cao Phong district, in coordination with the provincial Employment Service Centre, organised a job fair in November, attracting more than 500 people in the locality.

Hanoi’s Gia Linh Investment and Consulting joint Stock Company provides job counseling and introduces studying opportunities in Japan for students and young workers in Cao Phong district.

32-year-old Bui Thi Van, from Quang Ngoai hamlet in Hop Phong commune, said she used to work as a worker for a garment enterprise in Hai Duong province, but she has been unemployed for almost a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coming to the job fair, she had a chance to meet recruitment units, be updated with information, and received enthusiastic guidance. Van said she has decided to work for GGS company located in the Da River Left Bank Industrial Park as it is not far away from her home and she can earn 7.5 million VND per month or more.

19-year-old Nguyen Thanh Tam, from Bam village in Tay Phong commune, said she was looking for information about the labour markets of the Republic of Korea and Japan. Through meeting with the recruitment units, she was briefed about the type of jobs, occupations, method of recruitment and training, salary and expense for working overseas.

Six enterprises participated in the job fair, including two local enterprises and a vocational training institution. More than 11th and 12th graders also attended the event to learn about vocational training.

According to Bui Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the district People's Committee, a lack of jobs or unstable employment is still common in the locality due to a high proportion of labourers in the agricultural sector, low skills of workers and an increasing number of people in need of employment. On average, the district needs to create jobs for about 1,000 workers and provide vocational training for 900 people each year.

The organisation of the annual job fair is the main channel providing information, recruitment targets, and reliable addresses for workers to access the market and look for a job suitable to their qualifications, capacity and conditions, he said.

Within the framework of the 2022 job fair, many workers have been either recruited or registered for suitable vocational training courses, creating a bridge between enterprises and employees, contributing to generating jobs while ensuring social security, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in the locality.
