Under the blazing early summer sun, the construction site of Nhuan Trach Industrial Park (IP) in Luong Son district is abuzz with activities from dawn to dusk, a testament to the determination of the investor to meet their construction targets on schedule.

The investment policy of the IP, funded by the Hoa Phu – Hoa Binh Co., Ltd., was approved by the Prime Minister in February 2022. Covering 213.68 hectares in the communes of Nhuan Trach and Cu Yen, the project worth over 2.38 trillion VND (91.26 million USD) saw its ground officially broken on January 10, 2025. Since then, key legal procedures, including the 1/2000 zoning plan, the detailed 1/500 master plan adjustment, and land lease contracts for 96 hectares, have been completed. Major technical infrastructure works are now in full swing.

Tran Thi Tam, a technician, said: "We are concentrating all resources on the foundation and key technical infrastructure components. Despite the harsh weather, our team is working in shifts to ensure the schedule stays on track. We aim to complete the groundwork and infrastructure so that we can start receiving secondary investors by June 30.”

In 2025, the investor plans to synchronise technical infrastructure within the permitted construction area, including road networks, site levelling, and the construction of an administration and service centre. In May and June, work is expected to commence on phase 1 of a wastewater treatment plant with a daily capacity of 1,700m cu.m, as well as a clean water plant with a capacity of 2,500 cu.m per day.

Nevertheless, the investor has reported some difficulties with land clearance and site compensation procedures.

From another perspective, Bui Van Tuyen, a local labourer from Nhuan Trach working on the site, shared: "I have been here since the very beginning. Seeing these hills and flooded fields transformed into this large construction site fills me with joy. Every working day is a contribution to the development of my hometown. Once the industrial park opens, I hope to secure a permanent job here so I won’t have to work far from home.”

The IP is expected to directly generate 30,000 jobs and create around 10,000 indirect employment opportunities through trade and service activities for the local communities and surrounding provinces.
