(HBO) – Phan Van Thai, Deputy Director of Ky Son district’s social security agency, said the number of voluntary social insurance participants in the locality remains limited, standing at only 157.

Officials of Ky Son’s social security agency and post office provide consultations on voluntary social insurance for locals in Tan Thinh hamlet, Hop Thinh commune, Ky Son district.

To expand the network of voluntary social insurance participation and raise public awareness of voluntary social insurance, the social security agency has coordinated with the local post office to organise various practical and meaningful activities. However, the communication work has met an array of difficulties.

Pham Thi Quynh Nga, director of the post office, said the district aims to encourage 330 people aged from 18 to 45 to join voluntary social insurance in 2019. Of these, the post office will be in charge of 170 people.

As many as 156 people have registered for the insurance, she said, adding that the two agencies are stepping up the communication work to help locals understand more about voluntary social insurance policy and the State’s relevant incentives.

At the same time, the district has intensified IT application and administrative reform in this regard in order to raise service quality.
