(HBO) - In order to help children feel at ease without fear when entering the hospital, the Health Center of Da Bac District in collaboration with the Communist Youth Union of Da Bac District has invested in the amusement park for children right at the hospital. This is a practical model and it has a deep sense of humanity because the treatment not only requires medicine but it also needs psychological and relaxation issues for patients.

Children are having fun at the amusement park at the Health Center of Da Bac District.

The amusement park not only contributes to relieve stress for the child-patients, the patients, the family members of the patients, the doctors, it also has a great effect on the resilience of the child-patients. Ms. Lo Thi Cu in Co Phay village, Tan Minh commune says: My child often fell ill, we have often gone to the hospital for treatment. Every time I go to the hospital, I often take her to play games. She was really afraid of the doctors. Whenever she saw anyone in a blue shirt, she cried. But now she doesn’t have that fear any longer.

Through the observation, most of the child-patients who go to the hospital for medical examination and treatment are enlisted in the amusement park. A lot of children outside the hospital also go there to play with them. The laughter, the jokes dispel the pain of illness that they are enduring. The innocent smiles and the games of children make the parents more comfortable and more confident about the health status of the children.

Mr. Pham Quoc Tuan, the Deputy Director of Da Bac District’s Health Center says: In order to serve the patients in the best way, in recent years besides the facilities for professional purposes, the district’s Health Center has focused on the infrastructure such as the green trees, the fairways, the rearrangement of car parks, motorbikes for patients, the renovation of the patients’ rooms, toilets and so on. The amusement for children has been put into operation from February, 2019.

Although we don’t have enough conditions to invest in many games for the children, we have received the support from a lot of parents. We have determined that the amusement park is an important part of the hospital with the aim of preventing children from being afraid of the hospital and easing the pain of illness when coming here. I hope this model is becoming more and more popular and at the same time it will receive the support and assistance from the benefactors and the social communities for the children who are disadvantaged in term of illness.
