(HBO) - From 0:00 on 1 April 2020, the whole country started the implementation of a social gap - this is a drastic solution, showing the determination of the Government and the People in the prevention and control of Covid-19. 15 days of implementing the social gap in the spirit of the Prime Minister's Directive No. 16 in the province was evaluated quite seriously. No cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the province so far.

The supermarkets in Hoa Binh city have been providing abundant goods, many food items and vegetables and fruits with 20 - 30% discount.

Ensuring necessities and essential goods for the people in the 15 days of social separation is the first set requirement. Right on April 1, the provincial People's Committee instructed the Department of Industry and Trade to develop a plan to ensure the supply of goods to meet the consumers’ needs of the people in the response to Covid-19 epidemics. In general, the market situation in the province during the implementation of social gap did not have big changes and the supply of goods is guaranteed. The supermarkets and the trade centers all had plans to increase their inventories by 30-50% compared to those during the normal time.

In order to timely check, control and remind the implementation of Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister, the Provincial People's Committee directed the provincial Police to preside and coordinate with the departments of Health, Transportation, Military and the appropriate authorities to implement 11 controlling points on the road which is adjacent to the province. Some districts and the city set up the controlling points to monitor the implementation of disease prevention and control in the localities. The controlling points have conducted seriously and actively checked the body temperature, and reminded people who do not to wear masks when going to the street as well as the medical declarations ...

Mr. Tran Quang Khanh, the Director of the Department of Health, said that during the period of the social separation from 1 – 15 April, the health sector has strictly implemented the flow of examination, isolation, treatment of patients and upgraded the performance of disease prevention and control in medical examination and treatment establishments.

The 15 days of social gap has shown positive effects, however, there have been also major impacts on the socio-economic life of the people in the province. The enterprises in the province have had to reduce their working hours, reduce their tasks or dismiss their employees after Tet holidays so many workers have become unemployed, which has brought a lot of difficulties, especially to the small private sector, household economy.

Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has directed to list the number of unemployed, the households under the preferential policy, the people with meritorious services, the disadvantaged people, and the number of businesses and households affected by Covid-19 epidemics according to regulations. Especially, the businesses operating in the field of services and tourism are in extremely difficult situation. The total number of tourists coming to the province in the first 3 months decreased by 45.1% compared to that of the same period last year, equaling 17% of the year’s plan, and the total revenue was estimated at 380 billion VND, reducing 26.5% compared to that of the same period last year, equaling to 15.2% of the year’s plan.

The development of Covid-19 epidemics is increasingly complicated and unpredictable. Although there haven’t been any cases of Covid-19 infection in the province so far, it will certainly be seriously affected by the pandemic.
