(HBO) - Promoting the propaganda, the movement of voluntary blood donation in Yen Thuy district has developed widely and deeply over the past year, attracting the participation of a large number, which meets the demand for blood treatment at hospitals, especially during the complicated development of Covid-19 epidemics.

 


The people in Yen Thuy district are taking part in voluntary blood donation. 

Mr. Tran Huu Hau, the Chairman of the District’s Red Cross says: "Over the past time, the Steering Committee of the district’s voluntary blood donation has collaborated with other departments and agencies to coordinate with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, deploying the implementation of blood donation days according to the set plan, which both ensures the planned blood quantity and the measures to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemics in accordance to the guidance of the Ministry of Health. The communication forms, which are appropriate to the development of the epidemics, have been deversified. 

The development of Covid-19 epidemics has been complicated, therefore it has affected the organization, the propaganda and the mobilization of people to register for the voluntary blood donation. During this time, the propaganda and organization of the festival of voluntary blood donation must not only ensure the safety for the blood donors and the blood sources for the treatment, but it also ensures the requirements of preventing and controlling the epidemmics in the community. Accordingly, all the medical staff, the service volunteers, and the blood donors must wear face masks, wash their hands with the sanitizer, and measure their body temperature before they enter the hall. The time holding the ceremony has been extending until the end of the day, the blood donation areas have been aranged far away from each other, the blood donation sessions have been devide for each agency and unit to avoid the large crowds at the same time. 

The district’s mobilizing Board of the voluntary blood donation together with the appropriate local authorities, departments, branches and unions have continue propagating widely on the mass media, the leaflets and the posters about the movement of voluntary blood donation, the benefits of the health and the humanity the it brings about. They have been coordinating with the blood-receiving facilities to implement the measures preventing and controlling Covid-19 according to the guidance of the health sector with the message "Donating blood safely - Don't be afraid of Covid”. 

Mr. Bui Phi Diep from Yen Tri commune is a typical example in the movement of voluntary bloood donation in the area. So far, he has participated in blood donation 14 times. Besides, he has also mobilizes his relatives, friends and colleagues to participate in the annual movement of voluntary blood donation. Mr. Diep says: "Volunatry blood donation is a very meaningful and humane activity in society. I am aware that every time I donate blood, I help someone, maybe I can even save the life of a patient in great need of blood. Blood donation also brings many benefits to the body. Therefore, those who are healthy and do not have infectious diseases should register for blood donation to continue spreading the movement strongly in the community”. 

Yen Thuy district has organized 7 rounds of blood donation with over 3,700 people registered to donate blood, collecting 1,894 units of blood since 2016. The club models súh as the reserving blood donation, the people with live blood group, the family of blood, tissue donation and organ donation all work effectively. These results have been achieved thanks to the cooperation and response of a large number of the officials, the armed forces, the members of the Youth Communist Union, the youth and the people in the area. 

"Every drop of blood given - a life stays”, which is the noble ideal of life that blood donors and the mobilizing units want to achieve. The drops of gratitude blood not only bring living opportunity to many patients, but they also multiply the affection, sharing, the spirit of "mutual love and affection” among the people. Thereby, the agencies, the units and the individuals need to continue responding and participating in blood donation meeting the emergency requirements, treating the patients in need of blood and solving the urgent problem of lacking the current blood reserve, especially during the complicated development of Covid-19 epidemics.
