Despite challenges in 2024, including global instability,
natural disasters, and rising material costs, local businesses have focused on
recovery and growth. Employers recognise Tet as a prime opportunity to show
appreciation for workers and strengthen ties with their workforce.
According to the Department of Labour, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, 261
businesses reported data on wages and bonuses, covering 70,633 workers. The
average monthly wage for private enterprise employees was 6.8 million VND (267
USD), while that of foreign-invested companies averaged 8.7 million VND.
For New Year 2025 bonuses, 231 businesses planned to reward over 69,000
employees, with amounts ranging from 100,000 VND to five million VND.
Lunar New Year bonuses are projected for 64,935 workers at 223 businesses,
averaging 4.86 million VND, with a maximum of 150 million VND.
Bui Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of the department, emphasised
proactive measures to stabilise labour relations, ensuring compliance with wage
and bonus policies, particularly for disadvantaged workers.
Improved bonus levels reflect businesses’ efforts to support
employees and appreciate loyalty, preventing labour shortages after the
holiday.
